What to Expect

• Your Guide will meet you at your hotel lobby or any place you prefer.

•Take the fast train from the Central Railway Station. [40RMB/Per Person][Less than 30 minutes]

•Take the metro or taxi from the Railway Station to the old town area. [Taxi 20RMB]

​

•Your Guide will take you from the main street to small and hidden alleys. During this walk, you can see more authentic life, normal people, traditional houses, and savour cheap local snacks.

​

•Your guide will introduce Yipu Private Garden, sharing more knowledge about Chinese gardens, Chinese culture and Chinese people with you. Yipu Garden is hidden in a local residential area and is a less well-known but extremely peaceful garden. Even Chinese people could get lost in this area!

•After this peaceful garden, your guide will walk with you to another local area. You will walk past a local temple without tourists, and a local small shopping area.

•Your guide will recommend a local small restaurant for you. [About 60 RMB] At the same time, your guide will share more with you about food culture all around China and show you how to use chopsticks.

•Walking to the most famous old street in Suzhou---Seven Miles Street. It offers a great chance to see “the Venice of the East”. We could take a boat around the waterway also! Your guide will also take you to behind some streets to see inside some houses, to talk with locals, to see people selling anything on the street.

.•After walking along the canal, your guide will take you to the oldest attraction in Suzhou---Tiger Hill. This is a complex hill away from downtown and combines nature with historical sites. There is an ancient pagoda with over 1000 years of history, sometimes referred to as “the Leaning Tower of Pisa of the East”. A famous king from the Wu period is also supposed to be buried under the hill, but that story has remained very mysterious to even the local people.

• Afterwards, your guide will take you to one more old street to admire the night view in Suzhou, where you can feel as if you back in old China.

•Take metro/Taxi to go back to the train station. It takes less than 30 minutes to arrive at Shanghai central station. Your Guide will send you to your hotel.
